OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Mid-Bay Bridge in Okaloosa County will be closed to all traffic Friday overnight.
Florida Department of Transportation representatives say crews are still working on permanent repairs to the bridge. Starting Friday at 11 p.m. and going until Saturday at 5 a.m., drivers will need to find a different route.
FDOT says repairs to the post-tensioning tendons, which are prestressed steel cables inside the bridge that reinforce concrete, are expected to be completed by fall 2019.
When the bridge is open, traffic is limited to two-axle vehicles and limited EMS and first responder equipment only.
