Good Monday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start on VIPIR 7 Doppler Radar but we do have some clouds passing overhead and some developing low level clouds and fog for the first several hours this morning.
Temperatures are quite mild and muggy outside with many starting the day in the low to mid 60s.. Another toasty day is expected across NWFL. Highs will reach the upper 70s on the beaches and push into the low 80s north of the bays.
We're in a very summery pattern with high pressure in the Western Atlantic off the East Coast. That's driving in a southeasterly flow of warm and moist air.
We'll see similar conditions almost each and every day this week where that warm moist air moves in over relatively cool Gulf waters and creates a morning low cloud deck and fog. That early morning cloud deck will lift out as the sun warms up our temperatures and we'll get to see mainly sunny afternoons.
We may see just a stray shower or two try to develop heading into the late day and evening hours tomorrow. High pressure brings sinking motion to the atmosphere and the western edge of that sinking motion is overhead today. But as it slowly slides a little east tomorrow, we may be able to generate just enough lift with daytime heating to get a few stray showers to develop. Otherwise, rain chances will be running slim all week.
For today, morning clouds and fog give way to mostly sunny skies today with warm highs near 80°. Your VIPIR 7 Day Forecast will feature a warm week ahead with very similar conditions to today almost each and everyday.
