Good Monday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start on radar this morning over most of the Panhandle, but we are watching a few scattered showers around the Gulf and Alabama. A few more will be possible throughout the day, especially inland this afternoon. So folks along the Hwy20 and I-10 corridors as well as the Wiregrass will want to grab the umbrellas for the day.
Otherwise, temperatures are mild and muggy and that's leading toward a foggy start over much of the area. Visibility may fall below a quarter mile this morning at times and a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 10am. You'll want to give yourself a few extra minutes out the door this morning for the potential of slower traffic. That fog gradually lift out over many locations throughout the day to mainly cloudy skies today. However, the coast may still see some of that fog linger throughout the day.
While the coast deals with a bit more of the fog throughout the day, inland areas will have a different concern as a stalled out cold front continues to spark rain chances. As temperatures warm up to the upper 70s near 80 degrees and with plenty of moisture in place, showers and some rumbles of thunder will develop along that front in the Wiregrass and I-10 corridor this afternoon. The front will gradually sink to the south as the afternoon turns into the evening and we could see some of those showers reach the coast before they fizzle out after sunset.
For today, fog likely for most in the morning with otherwise cloudy skies. Showers and some thunderstorms are likely inland in the afternoon with a few making it to the coast around or just after sunset. Highs today reach the mid 70s on the coast to near 80 inland. Your 7 Day Forecast features a bit better of a day shaping up for Tuesday as clouds decrease to some sunshine tomorrow afternoon.
