Meteorologist Ryan Michaels says there won't be much more than a stray shower or two possible this afternoon along the sea breeze front.
It's a quiet start on radar with mainly clear skies out this morning. We'll see quite a bit of sunshine through the morning commute, so grab the shades out the door! And dress comfortably as well as temperatures are warm in the mid to upper 70s with dew points back up into the sultry 70s as well.
Temperatures warm quickly under the sunshine this morning as we'll reach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees by late morning with feels like temperatures easily reaching the low to mid 90s by late morning. Highs today top off the low 90s on the coast to mid 90s inland with a heat index around the low triple digits.
Deep ridging returns to our atmosphere early on this week bringing sinking motion to the atmosphere and warmer temperatures ahead. An afternoon sea breeze front is still expected to develop but not much more than a stray afternoon shower may develop early on this week. With little relief from storms or cloud cover, the heat will persist into midweek with low to mid 90s for daytime highs and more feels like temperatures reaching the low triple digits to near heat advisory levels around 108° in some spots inland in the afternoons.
