Good Monday morning everyone!
Meteorologist Ryan Michaels shows off our Hourly Planner for today.
It's a quiet start on radar despite some stratus clouds passing through our skies. We'll see a mix of sun and clouds in the Panhandle today, or general cloudiness by the afternoon, especially down on the coast. A stray sprinkle can't be ruled out by the end of the day on the coast. However, it'll be hardly umbrella worthy until tonight and tomorrow morning.
Otherwise, temperatures are a bit more mild this morning as most woke up in the mid 50s. That's up a good 5-10° from yesterday morning, yet still chilly enough for the jackets to start the day. Average lows this time of year are around the low 50s, and seasonal highs are close to 75° in the afternoons. That's where most of us will top out in the mid afternoon for a very seasonal start to the work week.
Temperatures will warm up a bit more as the week unfolds with a ridge of high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic states pumping in a bit more of a warmer air mass from the Florida East Coast and the Atlantic waters to our east. Morning lows move into the mild 60s by Tuesday morning with highs pushing into the upper 70s through the midweek.
That easterly flow will also lead toward an increase in moisture from the Atlantic. We're too dry for any of those clouds this morning to produce rain. However, as our atmosphere moistens through the afternoon and into the evening, it's not out of the question for the coast from Panama City on down to Apalachicola to see a stray sprinkle or light shower try to develop. While hardly umbrella worthy today, we will see a few more light to moderate showers try to develop overnight tonight and perhaps greeting us out the door by Tuesday morning.
After the stray showers Tuesday morning, the rest of the week looks fairly mild and quiet in our skies until Friday. A cold front will pass through Thursday night and into Friday, where rain chances will become likely. Temperatures will take another plunge by Friday night and into the weekend with the chilly 40s Saturday and Sunday mornings. Highs may only reach the 60s Friday through Sunday.
For today, partly to mostly cloudy skies with a less than 10% chance of a stray shower near the coast. Highs today near 75°. You 7 Day Forecast brings in a small rain chance tonight and tomorrow but clears out and looks mild and seasonal through the midweek.
