Good Monday morning everyone!
Meteorologist Ryan Michaels says the cold front has cleared the Southeast and colder air is filtering in.
It's a quiet start on radar and satellite this morning with clear skies overhead. We'll enjoy plenty of sunshine today in the forecast, however, it will be cold sunshine!
Temperatures are starting out in the widespread 40s this morning, with the coast closer to 50°. Yet, winds are blowing at 10-15mph from the northwest adding to the chill as we'll get going feeling more like the upper 30s. Dress warmly out the door this morning as despite the sunny skies we'll only slowly warm up through the 40s during the morning drive. In fact, it may not be until lunchtime before we start to see our temperatures reaching the 50s! Highs today are likely to only reach the mid to upper 50s under that beautiful sunny sky.
We'll keep the northerly breeze in place for the next couple days, however, it won't be as breezy. But those northerly winds continue to draw in some colder air and under clear skies tonight we'll see temperatures dip down into the 30s. Some of us, away from the coast in NWFL, will flirt with a light freeze tonight and it's possible we'll see patchy frost develop, especially on elevated surfaces.
More sunshine returns to the forecast tomorrow yet temperatures are looking to remain chilly with highs struggling to reach 60 degrees in the afternoon. We'll only gradually see temperatures rebounding as the week progresses, with 60s by the midweek, to near 70 in the afternoon by the late week and weekend.
For today, cold sunshine with breezy northwesterly winds at 10-15mph.
Highs today only top out near 57°. A light freeze is possible inland tonight with patchy frost as temperatures reach the low 30s under clear skies. Your 7 Day Forecast keeps us running cold through tomorrow with plenty of sunshine in store for the early week forecast.
