New COVID-19 testing site opens in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A new COVID-19 testing site is open in Panama City.

PanCare's COVID-19 drive-through testing site is located at the Bay County Fairgrounds. (WJHG/WECP)

The drive-through testing location is offered by PanCare Health at the Bay County Fairgrounds.

But before getting tested, people must first call PanCare ahead of time to make sure they have COVID-19 symptoms and meet certain criteria. (See attached link)

They can then schedule an appointment.

The location currently has a goal to see about 40 patients a day.

Ashley Kelley, marketing coordinator with PanCare Health, said, ”We’re doing it via TeleHealth so there’s actually a provider that they’ll be speaking with through our TeleHealth system to go over symptoms, medical exam. They’ll do a flu and strep test initially, and then we get those results back immediately. So we have our mobile units set out to do the testing on site. Once we receive those back, then we can continue from there with the COVID-19 testing.”

Patients can expect results of their COVID-19 tests in about four to seven days.
