Panama City City Manager Mark McQueen says the new playground won't just be building out but building up. (WJHG/WECP)

Panama City commissioners approved money for more playground equipment for Oakland Terrace Park. Officials say this was in the works before Hurricane Michael to replace some of the older playground equipment. Panama City City Manager Mark McQueen says the new playground won't just be building out but building up.

McQueen said, "A lot of playgrounds are now going vertical so it adds a whole new dimension for play. It's a park that we use for all of our special needs folks too, this is a park for everyone, this is an inclusive park.

McQueen went on to say they plan to keep adding to the park in the future.
