DESTIN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Okaloosa County Sheriff's Officials have released new details in a shooting in Destin early Sunday morning.
They say it happened at about 4:15 a.m. at the Bric A Brac Club on Highway 98. According to deputies, a fight broke out outside.
Trevor Thomas, 29, of Crestview was taken to a local hospital for gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen.
Raheem Phillips, 24, of DeFuniak Springs was also shot.
They say that an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office supervisor arrived at the shooting in-progress and saw Christian Pickett in the parking lot with a gun in his hand. Pickett refused commands to drop the gun and pointed it toward him, at which point the deputy engaged him and fired shots.
According to deputies, a security guard behind the deputy said he was in fear of Pickett's movement and also fired in his direction. They say Pickett left the scene across Highway 98 and was eventually apprehended following a foot chase.
Pickett was taken into custody initially on charges of being a fugitive from Covington County, Alabama on a violation of probation charge for possession of a firearm with an altered ID. He is also charged with improper exhibition of a firearm and resisting an officer without violence as the investigation continues.
The deputy who fired at Pickett has been placed on administrative leave with pay as the investigation continues.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, two people are hospitalized and one person is detained for questioning in connection with a shooting at a Destin nightspot early Sunday morning.
Sheriff's officials said they were called to Bric à Brac, a restaurant and nightclub in Destin, around 4:18 a.m.
They said a disturbance around closing time led to multiple shots being fired and people fleeing.
Two people were reportedly taken to the hospital, both with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies said they have one person, Christian Pickett, 29, detained for questioning.
They said he is charged as a fugitive from Covington County, Alabama. Deputies said they learned Pickett has an active warrant there for violating probation on an original charge of possession of firearm with an altered I.D.
