PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The old Juvenile Justice Courthouse will soon become the Bay County Federal Courthouse.
Soon to be the new Bay County Federal Courthouse
The Panama City Commission voted to award a contract to Allstate Construction for contract management of the first phase of renovating the courthouse. During the first phase changes will be made to the interior to reflect the needs of the Bay County Federal Courthouse, which includes changing the location of rooms and removing walls to enlarge other rooms and spaces.
The cost of the first phase is approximately $816,000.
"That phase should take about six months to get everything cleared out. We'll be coming before that six months to award the next phase of the project where we keep this project rolling along."
The total renovation project is expected to take about 18 months to complete.
