One woman dead after shooting in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - UPDATE 1/23/2020 10:16 a.m.:

We're learning more details surrounding a woman's murder in Panama City.

According to arrest reports, William Briggs, who was charged with murder in connection with the death of Tammie Sherice Ash, is an eight time convicted felon. The report says Briggs had been in an intimate relationship with Ash for several years.

Reports also say Venus Harris, who was arrested for tampering with evidence, removed a wallet and paraphernalia from the crime scene. It says Harris saw the victim's body and removed a wallet near the body. It also says Harris never contacted police after seeing the victim. Reports for Calvin Peters, Jr., also charged with tampering with evidence, says Peters lived where the crime took place. The report says he stepped over the victim and removed things from the scene, and never called police.


One woman is dead after a shooting in Panama City Wednesday.

Panama City Police say they responded to a shooting a 205 Kraft Ave., Lot 23, of a FEMA trailer park.

When they arrived, they found the victim, Tammie Sherice Ash, 45, dead.

Officials say the suspect, William Briggs, is charged with murder, felon possession of a firearm, and trafficking in MDMA.

PC Police determined this after interviews with other people. They found Briggs at the 5100 block of E. 14th Street.

Calvin Peters Jr. and Venus Harris, both of Panama City, were charged with tampering with evidence.
