MALONE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A new health center is coming to our area, thanks to grant money.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Health Resources and Services Administration awarded more than $50 million to fund 77 health centers across 23 states, Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianna Islands. One of those new health centers will be a PanCare health center built in Malone.
PanCare says the money will provide support for new organizations to become HRSA Health Center Program grantees.
The only center in the state of Florida to receive an award was PanCare of Florida, Inc. which totaled at $650,000.
A press release stated that "PanCare will utilize funding in our newest location in Malone, Florida; this facility will provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services and will be open before the end of the year."
