One killed in Panama City Beach crash

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - UPDATE 02/11/2020 11:45 a.m.:

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers have released the name of the person killed in a crash in Panama City Beach.

Troopers say Christopher Thomas, 29, of Panama City, was killed when he was trying to drive across Back Beach Road from Allison Avenue Tuesday morning.

They say Thomas did not yield the right of way to a semi when making a left turn from Allison Avenue onto Back Beach Road. They say the semi hit the car and both ended up in the median.

They say Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi reportedly had minor injuries.

One person was killed in a Tuesday morning crash on Back Beach Road and Allison Avenue.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a car was turning left onto Back Beach Road at about 6 a.m. when a semi-truck hit the car on the driver's side.

Troopers say the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
