PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City Beach leaders are considering adding a median to a local roadway to improve safety.

Council Member Geoff McConnell said three crashes have happened on the roadway between Autozone and Friday"s off of Back Beach Road in the past two weeks. He said they've received more than 60 calls with complaints about traffic in the area over the past six months.

The proposal is to create a median that will stop people from turning left into and out of the driveway. McConnell said they're working with a private driveway owner to install the median and plan on working with the Florida Department of Transportation to find a more permanent solution.
