The city is working with local businesses to add more lifeguards on the beach. It's all a part of a push to increase beach safety which was sparked by numerous water rescues this past summer.

Council members say they have not chosen how many lifeguards they'll have or salaries yet but they plan on reviewing their plans with the Panama City Beach fire chief next month.

Council members also announced they received a state grant to help them beef take action against aggressive driving.
