House catches fire in Panama City, no one injured

Officials say crews saw smoke and fire coming from the back of the residence. (MGN)

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City firefighters responded to a structure fire Friday afternoon.

Officials say Panama City Police and Bay County EMS responded to the scene located at 902 E. 8th Ct. in Panama City.

Officials say crews arrived on scene and saw smoke and fire coming from the back of the residence. Additional crews searched the residence and found it to be empty.

They say the fire was extinguished in under five minutes.

Officials say the residents of the burning house were across the street and had reported the fire. However, they say they did not know how it started.

No injures were reported. Officials say the origin of the fire was "electrical in nature."
