Panama City man found guilty of sexual battery

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Washington County jury found a Panama City man guilty of sexually abusing a woman with special needs in 2018.

Thursday, the jury found Joseph Holloway guilty of two counts of sexual battery.

In September 2018, Holloway was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff's Office after the Bay County Sheriff's Office received reports of a sexual assault that happened in Washington County.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office told us last year the victim disclosed to a family member that Holloway had taken her to the woods and forced her to have sex with him.

She told them it wasn't the first time he had taken her to that location. They said Holloway admitted to knowing that the victim has special needs but claimed the relationship was consensual.

Holloway was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
