PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City now has employee hiring incentives to attract job-seekers with special skills.
The City Manager can give a signing bonus of up to six percent of an individual's salary. The incentive can be used for education, tuition, reimbursement, or a cash option to bring employees on. An example of a job the city would give an incentive for is CDL licensed drivers.
"We just had a job fair, we had 52 applicants that came out of the job fair. So, we are striving hard to fill those vacancies within the city," City Manager Mark McQueen said. "Each of those positions are very important to our city and our citizens to be able to perform those essential services that we all come to expect."
Eligible employees will have to stay for a minimum of one year.
