PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - A popular restaurant in Panama City Beach wrapped up its community beach cleanup Saturday.
Pineapple Willy's invited volunteers to help clean up trash left on the beaches for 15 Saturdays throughout the summer. For each person that attended, the restaurant donated $10 to a local organization. This week, the Panama City Rescue Mission was the recipient and the organization received more than $800.
"We do it because the beaches need to be clean and these organizations need our help," CEO of Pineapple Willy's, Melissa Traxler said.
About $18,000 have been donated to various organizations through the community beach cleanup. Pineapple Willy's plans to host this again next summer.
