Panama City Beach bank robbery suspect arrested

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - UPDATE 4:22 p.m.:

A suspect has been captued in Callaway after allegedly stealing a car and robbing a bank in Panama City Beach Wednesday. (MGN)

The Panama City Beach Police Department has reported the suspect as Aubrey Rowe of Signal Mountain, Tennessee.

Rowe is being charged with Armed Robbery and Grand Theft Auto. They say further charges are expected.

He was taken to the Bay County Jail where he is awaiting first appearance.

Panama City Beach officials were alerted around 11:35 Wednesday morning about an alleged car theft and bank robbery.

Officials say the suspect, who has not yet been identified, stole a car from Murphy Express gas station on Middle Beach Road in Panama City Beach.

They say he then drove to and robbed a First Federal Bank on R. Jackson Boulevard.

Authorities say the stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in Springfield and the suspect was found in Callaway.

An investigation is currently ongoing.
