WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Santa Rosa Beach man is facing charges after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement says he was stealing money from ATMs.

FDLE agents arrested Richard McWilliams, 56, Tuesday on one count of organized fraud, a first degree felony.

Agents say McWilliams was stealing money from ATMs in Okaloosa, Bay, Walton, and Franklin Counties as well as Houston County. The FDLE began investigating in June after owners of ATM placement and processing company reported McWilliams, a sub-contracted employee, had stolen more than $100,000.

They say McWilliams was responsible for loading 42 ATMS with several thousands of dollars in cash weekly or as needed.

They say a company audit revealed about $102,000 was missing from several of the ATMs and multiple cash deposits in excess of $100,000 from unknown sources were made into McWilliams' bank account from January 2017 to June 2018.
