PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Science and Discovery Center of Northwest Florida will begin hosting its summer camps starting on June 1.
Eight weeks of camps are planned, with one break the week of July 6-10. The topics of the camps range from dinosaurs to pirates to weird science, and the goal is to get kids out of the house safely and to help parents get some sense of a routine back.
"Well I know that a lot of people are having trouble with child care right now, and the parents have had to take off from work and stay home with the children to do their remote learning through regular school," said Michelle Smith, Operations Manager for the Science and Discovery Center. "This will give them an opportunity to maybe get back into their normal routine and do some of those things. But also knowing their children are safe and learning and having fun will just give peace of mind for those parents."
You can pick up a registration form for the camps at the front door of the center at 308 Airport Road in Panama City.
