PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - It's not every day you see men in kilts in Panama City Beach, unless it's time for the Scottish Festival!
The 26th annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games took place at Frank Brown Park Saturday afternoon.
The annual event also had bagpipe bands, athletic competitions like the caber toss, and all kinds of Scottish and Irish food including haggis.
Locals said the festival is a fun way to discover a new culture and maybe even discover some Scottish roots of their own.
When asked about any Scottish roots, an attendee, Mike Rits said "I don't believe I do."
However, Riley Woodrum, another attendee said, "I do. It's not as strong as I'd like but they are there. It's under the Hutcherson, under the McDonald clan."
The event wrapped up with a party at Sharky's Beachfront Restaurant.
