PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Teachers at St. Andrew School in Panama City are packing up their classrooms but for a different reason than usual.
Earlier this year the school was scheduled to be mothballed, or temporarily closed, for the upcoming school year.
Teachers and staff have until June 10 to pack up their belongings to prepare for the move to Oakland Terrace School for the Arts.
Staff say it's a bittersweet time for one of the oldest schools in Bay County.
Marsha Rockhill, the music and art teacher at St. Andrew School said, "The one thing I think I'll miss is the beauty and calmness and peacefulness of the campus. You look out the window there are wonderful trees and the grounds. It feels like home because it has been."
Oakland Terrace was once slated to be mothballed as well.
