St. Andrews State Park closed to encourage social distancing

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - St. Andrews State Park is one park in Florida to be closed in an effort to decrease the spread of COVID-19.

Following the Governor's direction and with guidance from the CDC, the Department of Environmental Protection made the decision to completely close parks like St. Andrews in order to prevent large groups from gathering along the beach.

While the beach parks will be closed, many other state parks are currently open for day-use with hours of operation running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
