PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The St. Joe Company has presented the plans for a new community to Mexico Beach City officials.

The community will include garden homes, apartments, and single family homes. According to city officials, there will be around 200 units built.

Mayor Al Cathey said, "I mean, I think it's great. I think it's great that anyone would want to invest in our community right now given the condition. This is just another sign that we're on our way back."

An open house will be held for the community to view what the houses will look like when they're built.
