PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Three Bay County men were sentenced Friday for scamming elderly people.
In June, Delroy Williams, 52, of Lynn Haven, Vivian Walters, 33, of Lynn Haven, and Jevaughn Williams, 22, of Panama City Beach, pleaded guilty to federal charges of one count conspiracy to commit wire fraud and mail fraud, one count of wire fraud, and one count of mail fraud.
The men tried to scam elderly victims by telling them they won a sweepstakes prize between 2014 and 2017. They would keep some of the money, then send the rest to co-conspirators in Jamaica.
Jevaughn Williams was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. Walters and Delroy Williams were sentenced to 36 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.
