Three men arrested after attempted burglaries in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Three men have been arrested after a call involving a possible burglary.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, deputies received information April 17 that two men were attempting to break into residences at a mobile home park located north of Greenwood on Highway 71. Upon arrival, deputies observed two men matching the witness's description and detained them. They were identified as Jesus Santos and Jesus Zapata.

The witness also described a vehicle that had dropped the two men off. Additional deputies, who were dispatched to assist, located a vehicle matching the witness' description driving north along Highway 71. The driver was identified as Daniel Chavez.

After an investigation, Santos and Zapata were charged with attempted burglary of a dwelling. Chavez was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license. All three were taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
