Good Thursday morning everyone!
It's a cloudy start on Satellite and VIPIR 7 Doppler Radar is picking up on some very fine mist or drizzle early on.
Temperatures are a bit cooler and they'll be funky this morning once again as northerly winds continue to draw in cooler air after sunrise. You'll notice on the Morning Commute our temperatures may actually drop a few more degrees after sunrise. Today will be on the more seasonal side with highs reaching the mid 60s this afternoon, a bit cooler after the past couple days have been in the 70s.
Clouds will decrease through the morning and we'll see the sunshine start to mix in through the midday and we may briefly turn mainly sunny this afternoon before clouds return heading into the evening. Our northerly winds will only last so long as return flow from the Gulf sets up almost immediately tonight and that will increase our moisture and cloud cover heading into tomorrow.
We'll have a warm front moving up out of the Gulf tomorrow and pushing north into the Southeastern states. This may set off a few stray showers as it passes by tomorrow. But it is expected to stall out heading into the first half of the weekend just to our north in MS, AL, and GA. That may provide just enough lift to set off scattered showers or some rumbles of thunder over the Southeastern states.
Timing is still a bit of an issue as to when we could see some rain develop over NWFL on Saturday. We'd reside in the warm sector with the warm front to our north. So more than likely we'll have to wait on the peak heating of the day to occur in the afternoon for some scattered showers to pop up on Saturday. More storms will follow to finish off the weekend on Sunday and they may even settle in for early next week as well as a cold front will be strung out and slowly moving south over the Southeastern states.
For today, cloudy skies will briefly turn mainly sunny into the afternoon. Highs today will be seasonal in the mid 60s. Your VIPIR 7 Day forecast will feature clouds returning tonight into tomorrow and rain chances picking up Saturday afternoon on into Sunday in the upcoming weekend.
