Good Thursday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start on radar despite a few upper level clouds cruising our skies this morning. We'll once again see a mix of sun and clouds over the Panhandle, much like yesterday.
Temperatures this morning are much more mild and it's a bit dewy outside this morning as moisture and humidity have been on the rise. We're getting started largely in the mild low 60s this morning. For many, we can leave the jackets at home this morning unless heading out the door before 8am and you're susceptible to feeling chilly. We warm fast once again on the morning commute into the 70s by 9am.
There's a cold front on the way and storms in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Until that front gets here we'll enjoy another day with a mix of sun and clouds and warm highs in the upper 70s on the coast to low to mid 80s inland. Winds will be breezy from the southeast at 10-20mph with gusts up to 25mph, ushering in a more humid feel for most and keeping the coast int the 70s.
The front starts to increase our cloud cover as we near sunset but our rain chances don't start to pick up until later on, closer to midnight. It looks as though we'll pick up a few hours of showers and thunderstorms along a squall line that will start up around midnight to 3am from Destin to Crestview. Then head east toward Panama city on up to Marianna around 6am, give our take an hour or two. Most of the storms may already be working through Apalachicola on up to Albany, GA by 8 or 9am. There's potential for severe weather along this line of storms where gusty damaging winds and one or two isolated tornadoes are possible across the Panhandle.
Behind this line of storms will be a cooler blast of air coming along windy conditions from the west northwest where daytime winds on Friday may reach 20-25mph with gusts up to 30-35mph at times. Highs tomorrow will cool off throughout the day with the warmest part of the day in the morning where temperatures start in the upper 60s near 70 degrees and fall into the mid to low 60s by the end of the day.
For today, mostly to partly sunny skies with breezy winds at 10-20mph with gusts up to 25mph. Highs today reach the upper 70s on the coast to low to mid 80s inland. Your 7 Day Forecast shows the stormy start to our Good Friday with a beautiful and cool Easter Weekend ahead featuring abundant sunshine.
