Good Thursday morning everyone!
Meteorologist Ryan Michaels speaking about the pleasantly warm temperatures in NWFL around sunrise this morning.
It's a quiet start on radar this morning so far, however, we will have a chance for a stray shower developing out in the Gulf to move on shore. There's a slightly better chance at catching one of these isolated showers near the Okaloosa and Walton County coastlines through the morning drive. We'll see another round of sea breeze storms developing inland in the afternoon. Otherwise, everyone else will wake up with mainly sunny skies and maybe some patchy fog inland.
Temperatures are pleasantly warm in the low to mid 70s. It'll be another hot and humid summery day ahead with highs topping out near 90 on the coast to the low 90s inland with feels like temperatures in the mid to upper 90s.
The afternoon heat and humidity will set the sea breeze into effect this afternoon. With steering winds a bit stronger and more from the south this afternoon, there will be a better chance for an afternoon storm along and north of the Hwy20 corridor. Rain chance on the coast today are only around 20% for a stray morning shower, and then 40% inland for a hit or miss afternoon sea breeze storm.
The next several days are looking fairly similar to this set up. We don't see any major changes in the pattern until the end of the weekend and into next week where a pair of frontal boundaries will bring better rain chances.
For today, mostly sunny skies with an isolated coastal shower possible in the morning, followed by a hit or miss sea breeze storm inland in the afternoon. Highs today reach up to near 90 on the coast to the low 90s inland. Your 7 Day Forecast keeps this pattern in place through the next few days until rain chances go back on the increase late Sunday and on into next week.
