Good Thursday morning everyone!
Meteorologist Ryan Michaels showing this morning's light rain over the Tri-State.
We have a little activity over the Panhandle on radar this morning with otherwise cloudy skies. These small, brief, light sprinkles will be all we can muster this morning. Hardly umbrella worthy for the most of the coast today, maybe worthy over the Tri-State, as we'll only expect to collect a few hundredths of an inch in the gauge through the daylight hours. Better rain chances show up after sunset and into this evening.
Otherwise, the clouds are keeping us from getting as cold as morning's prior. We're waking up largely in the mid to upper 40s this morning which still requires a something warm to wear out the door early on. Despite a lack of sunshine and mainly cloudy skies in the forecast today, we'll still manage to reach the 60s this afternoon! I imagine some will be able to shed the jackets this afternoon.
As for rain chances today...
We have a small warm front extending across the Northern Gulf creating some weak lift. Our atmosphere is still quite dry from the early week cool down. So it will be tough to muster much more than the light showers that we're seeing right now, especially over the Tri-State. However, as the cold front approaches tonight, the warm front will have pushed in enough warmth and moisture to create better lift and better rain chances. Likely moderate showers are expected after sunset and into this evening, followed by a few more post frontal light showers overnight or into early Friday morning. Roughly a half of an inch is expected.
For today, mainly cloudy skies and a stray light shower or sprinkle possible. Highs today near 65°. Your 7 Day Forecast brings in clearing skies after a few more light showers early Friday morning and a beautiful weekend ahead!
