Triumph Gulf Coast will be giving more than $1.7 million to Walton County to expand the sewer and water infrastructure systems. This will help the county develop Highway 331 into a commercial and industrial artery and bring more than 150 jobs to the area.
The project itself is expected to cost more than three-million dollars and take two and a half to three years to complete.
Don Gaetz, the Chairman of the Triumph Gulf Coast board, said, "It is the opportunity to grow Walton County. South Walton is constricted in many ways by the availability of land and the price of land, but the central part of the county between Freeport and DeFuniak Springs really is the economic opportunity zone for Walton County."
Ground has not yet been broken on the project, but soon will be now that the contract has been approved.
