Tuesday Forecast

Good Tuesday morning everyone!

Meteorologist Ryan Michaels showing rain totals for the past 24hrs and mentioning some of the same places today are likely to see similar results.

It's a quiet start on radar this morning with just a few Gulf showers not moving onshore. We'll still need the umbrellas today, and in many of the same spots we had most of the rain yesterday.

Otherwise, it's a fairly comfortable start with most of our temperatures down in the low 70s. Yet dew points are in the low 70s and it'll start to warm fast throughout the morning. Highs today should have no trouble reaching the upper 80s to near 90 degrees in areas that we don't see much rain, which is likely to be areas west of Highway 79 today.

Yesterday's weak boundary over the Panhandle has been replaced by another cold front which will stall out over NWFL today and tomorrow continuing to provide lift and a chance for showers and storms to develop. Positioning of this front will be important as to who will have the best rain chances.

We'll expect it to stall out around the Hwy231 corridor again just like yesterday bringing likely rain chances to areas along Hwy231 and to the east. Daytime heating will once again take over inland in the afternoon, and with the heat and humidity in place, we'll expect to see late day spotty scattered showers develop along I-10 and into the Wiregrass.

As for coastal rain chances, there's a light northerly steering wind this morning which may try to push a few early storms, that develop inland, down closer to the coast in Bay, Gulf, and Franklin Counties. However, the coastal rain chances through the day will stay low around 40% and basically from Mexico Beach down to St.George Island or along the Forgotten Coast.

Otherwise, the rest of the coast may have to wait till the evening hours and overnight for better rain chances as an area of low pressure develops over NWFL. That area of low pressure will also bring rain chances overnight to the Tri-State.

Bottom Line...
For today, partly sunny skies on the coast with mostly cloudy skies inland and a better rain chance throughout the day. Highs today reach the upper 80s on the coast to near 90 inland for areas that don't see any rain. Your 7 Day Forecast brings rain chances down to more scattered hit or miss tomorrow and dries out the forecast more through the end of the week.
