Good Tuesday morning everyone!
Quite the warm start in the Southeast this morning at sunrise shown here by Meteorologist Ryan Michaels.
It's a quiet start on radar this morning with just a few clouds working in from the west. But don't put those umbrellas away for the day just yet as some may need them for the latter half of the day.
Otherwise, it's a warm and humid morning for all, but especially down along the coast where temperatures are in the low 80s to start. Feels like temperatures this morning on the coast are even in the low 90s!
Dress comfy as we have another hot one on our hands today. Highs reach the 90s just about Panhandle-wide and afternoon heat indices will have no trouble reaching the low triple digits.
However, there may be just a little reprieve in the forecast for the heat index over the next coming days as dew points drop, tonight into tomorrow, down to near 70°. That's still humid just not oppressive. Yet that little drop in humidity should keep most of us away from the excessive heat and triple digit feels like temperatures come Wednesday.
We'll still have high pressure in place today and that will help keep most of us away from any rain this afternoon, especially along the coast. With enough daytime heating, however, areas along the Highway 20 & I-10 corridor will have a chance for a late afternoon storm to try to cool things off. There's a chance we could see some gusty winds once again with any storms that do develop inland this afternoon.
For today, mostly sunny skies with a chance for a late day storm inland. Otherwise, hot and humid with highs near 90 on the coast to the mid 90s inland with feels like temperatures of 100-105°. Your 7 Day Forecast keeps us running pretty warm on the thermometer over the next several days, however, humidity may come down a hair through the midweek helping to limit some of the afternoon heat indices from reaching the triple digits.
