Two injured. one arrested in DeFuniak Springs shooting

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Two people are injured and another is facing charges after a shooting in DeFuniak Springs on Wednesday evening.

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office, they were notified by a local hospital that it was treating a victim with a gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that a 19-year-old was shot multiple times in the leg and that another 18-year-old victim had severe wounds to the ear from being hit with a pistol.

Deputies identified Glenda "Nook" Hamilton, 21, as a suspect. They also said the incident happened off Howlin Road.

WCSO says patrol units secured the scene, and witnesses were interviewed.

Hamilton turned herself into the DeFuniak Springs Police Department Wednesday night.

She is charged with aggravated battery and was given a $75,000 bond. Additional charges are expected.
