Two people arrested in connection with shooting

CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Two people are facing charges in connection with a shooting in Crestview on Sunday.

Crestview Police arrested Thomas Adams, 41, of Haines City, and Jarvis Smart, 39, of Union Springs, Alabama.

The shooting happened Sunday morning at an abandoned home on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard near Wilson Street. They say one person was transported for a gunshot to the abdomen and is listed in serious condition.

Police say they shared a video showing the two men on its Facebook page. They say after it was shared numerous times, someone saw the men near a local business more than a mile away from the shooting.

Adams is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and home invasion robbery. Smart was charged with armed robbery and obstruction by providing a false name to law enforcement.

Police say while two people have been arrested in connection with this case, this investigation is still active and more arrests could come.
