Two people dead after crash near Eglin Air Force Base

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Two people are dead after a crash in Okaloosa County Saturday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, a 57-year-old man from Arizona was driving north on a private driveway of Eglin Air Force Base and approaching the intersection at Highway 98 around 6:20 p.m. He had three passengers in the car.

They say Shari Ward, 58, from Destin, was driving east on Highway 98 and approaching the private driveway of the base when the other driver went into the intersection and cut her off.

Both drivers were killed in the crash. Three passengers were taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with injuries. Two of them only had minor injuries and the other one is in critical condition.

The man's name has not yet been released.
