Two traffic stops lead to meth arrests

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Two Walton County residents were arrested Thursday night on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrests were made after two unrelated traffic stops in Ebro.

Washington County Sheriff's Office officials said its K9 unit stopped a Jeep near Casey Road on Highway 20 just after 8:30 p.m. Officials say deputies found three glass pipes and two plastic bags containing methamphetamine in the Jeep, driven by Melissa Turner, 50, of DeFuniak Springs.

The second arrest was made after deputies stopped a Dodge pickup truck also traveling on Highway 20 around 9 p.m. They say the driver, James Tucker, 58, of Freeport was in possession of a glass pipe and a plastic bag of methamphetamine.

Both drivers were booked into Washington County Jail.
