Two-vehicle crash leaves one dead in Jackson County. (MGN)

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - On July 6 at 8:10 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol reports a fatal two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 231 and County Road 162. The vehicles involved were a black 2003 Toyota Solara and a white 2008 Chrysler Aspen.

According to the press release, the Solara was travelling southbound on 231, and entered the intersection with the intent to negotiate a left turn onto County Road 162. The ride side of the car then collided with the front of the Aspen.

Officials say the driver of the Solara, Austin Reese Selman, 24, sustained critical injuries. He was flown to Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama, by AIRHeart.

The passenger, Margaret Ann Aaron, 20, was transported to Jackson Hospital and later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Aspen, Edoi Lianne Miller, 57, was also transported to Jackson Hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
