The agreement will provide Tyndall Air Force Base with a Tax Collector's Office that is close to airmen's work centers. Airmen and retirees can register vehicles, obtain hunting and fishing licenses, become Florida residents and more.

The new building will be on a site near the current base library.

Monday officials with the Bay County Tax Collector's Office and Tyndall signed an Intergovernmental Support Agreement.

"There could be 25 to 30,000 people with base access in the next five to ten years here and this will position us to better serve the community where we live and work and it's going to be more than just a tax collector's office. It's going to be all the community resources so it's really a one stop shop for the airmen and women," Bay County Tax Collector Chuck Purdue said.

When completed the new office will be open to all DoD personnel to include service members, retirees, and their families.
