UPDATE: Two dead after 4th of July crash

Panama City Beach Police say Mary Dixon, 46, of Tennessee, has died from her injuries.

UPDATE: July 5th 4:30 a.m.

Police say James Blount was turning left off Highway 79 onto Innocente Avenue when he drove into the path of an oncoming motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, Richard Donohoo, and his passenger, Mary Dixon, were thrown from the bike. Donohoo was taken to a hospital and later died. Dixon was air-lifted to the hospital and is in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

One person is dead after a crash on Highway 79 in Panama City Beach Thursday afternoon.

Police say a Ford pickup truck was turning left off Highway 79 onto Innocente Avenue when it drove into the path of an oncoming motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist and his passenger were thrown from the bike. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he later died. His passenger was air-lifted to the hospital and is in critical condition.

Police are not releasing the names of anyone involved at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
