PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - As of March 18, all U.S. Army recruiting operations in the state of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle will shift to mobile and virtual operations to limit person-to-person contact.
Recruiters will still be accessible to anyone interested in a career with the U.S. Army, but they will communicate through text, phone calls, direct messages or video chat instead of in-person.
Recruiters will also have limited in‐person contact with future soldiers preparing to ship to training bases.
The U.S. Army is actively shipping Future Soldiers to Basic Combat Training at this time.
Screening procedures put in place on March 2 are still being followed. The screening procedures include incoming recruits being asked health and recent travel questions and their temperature being taken. This process is repeated at the training facility before training begins.
