Good Friday morning everyone, TGIF, and Happy Valentine's Day!
It's a bit of an active morning on satellite and radar with a few post frontal showers still moving through. Early morning commuters may want a little rain gear before 8am, and mainly for those east and southeast of Hwy231. Otherwise, we'll see those showers clear and clouds clear out quickly through the morning hours to open up a beautiful day. But it will be a chilly one!
Be sure to dress warmly today as temperatures are starting out in the 40s for most. As the clouds and showers peel away through the morning we'll get to mainly sunny skies through the midday and afternoon. That sunshine will help push temps into the low to mid 60s for afternoon highs today, which may be a few degrees shy of average.
Anyone with Valentine's Day dinner plans this evening, be sure to dress warmly as temperatures will cool off quickly! We'll drop out of the 60s and back into the 50s by 6pm, and continue to fall into the lower 50s by 8 or 9pm. Overnight lows tonight reach the 30s inland to low 40s on the coast! How about that for a little return of winter... It doesn't last long into our weekend, however.
After the chilly start to Saturday morning, abundant sunshine returns and warms us up to the seasonal mid 60s in the afternoon. We won't get as cold Sunday morning with temps largely in the 40s in the morning and a return to the 60s in the afternoon. But we'll see some more cloud cover developing into our Sunday as high pressure slides to the east and gradually builds in a little more moisture. It'll pair up with the subtropical jet to provide us some lift in the atmosphere to get clouds increasing and the chance for a late day shower.
For today, mostly cloudy skies with a few passing showers early on today especially southeast of Hwy231. Clouds decrease through the rest of the morning and skies turn sunny this afternoon. Highs will be cool in the low to mid 60s this afternoon. Your 7 Day Forecast brings the sunshine back for a beautiful Saturday after a cold morning, clouds return and a late day shower is possible on Sunday.
