Washington County SWAT team locates domestic violence suspect hiding under blanket

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Washington County Sheriff's Office says it responded to a call Sunday morning in regard to a woman reporting her boyfriend had beaten her throughout the night.

According to the press release, "As deputies arrived at the home, 45-year-old Scotty Dupree, barricaded himself inside the residence."

Officials say the WCSO SWAT team located Dupree hiding in a bedroom under a blanket. He was then arrested and charged with felony battery by strangulation, aggravated felony battery causing bodily harm, and false imprisonment.

They say the victim was transported to a local hospital.
