Good Wednesday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start over the Panhandle this morning as a cold front is passing through and only noticeable by a few clouds and a slightly breezy north wind.
It is a bit chilly in that north wind as temperatures are starting out in the upper 40s to low 50s with the light breeze knocking off a few more degrees. Be sure to dress warmly today as temperatures struggle to do much warming under a mainly sunny sky. We'll largely stay in the low 50s through much of the morning with only gradually warming into the upper 50s this afternoon.
High pressure is now building into the Southeast behind this morning's cold front. That leads toward two main things over the next couple days. The first, as we sit on the east side of this approaching high we'll fall in the northerly flow today and tomorrow bringing in colder conditions tonight and throughout the day tomorrow. We may see our overnight lows get down to freezing inland and approach those lower 30s on the coast with highs tomorrow struggling into the lower 50s.
The second is high pressure clears out our skies thanks to the sinking motion it brings to the atmosphere. So we'll get a lot of sunshine to look forward to, however, as previously mentioned it will be chilly sunshine to finish off the work week.
Our next rain maker is poised to move in over the weekend. However, only a stray shower may show up through the afternoon Saturday. The higher rain chance, of what will only be light rain, moves in Saturday night into early Sunday morning. The rain wraps up generally around sunrise Sunday and we'll be left with roughly a tenth or two in the rain gauges.
For today, abundant blue skies and sunshine with a light northerly breeze adding to a seasonally cool day. Highs today reach the upper 50s inland and may briefly hit 60 in some spots on the coast. Your 7 Day Forecast keeps the sunshine and dry weather in place through the rest of the work week, but it'll be chilly sunshine!
