JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A woman has been arrested after attempting to break into her ex-boyfriend's house.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a residence on Highway Two between Campbellton and Graceville to the report of someone attempting to break in early Saturday morning.

They say Tameka Nickole Brown, 44, of Dothan, Alabama, was an ex-girlfriend of one of the residents and was attempting to break in. Once she made entry, Brown was held down by the ex-boyfriend's brother while the other brother called the Sheriff's Office and left the residence, hoping Brown would calm down once he was gone.

Deputies say once Brown was released by the resident, she exited the house and began breaking out windows with a piece of wood.

The responding deputy says he detected an odor of alcoholic beverages on Brown's person and reported that she was very uncooperative during the investigation.

She was arrested for trespassing in occupied structure and criminal mischief under $200 and is in the Jackson County Correction Facility awaiting first appearance.
