Arnold parting ways with head football coach Josh Wright

The Arnold football program now finds itself in the market for a new head ball coach!

Newschannel 7 Sports has learned the school's new principal Britt Smith called head coach Josh Wright in and told him that perhaps a change needed to be made. We're told coach Wright then came back and handed in his resignation.

So call it a "mutual decision" for them to part ways.

All this confirmed to us late Friday afternoon by Arnold Athletic Director Rick Green, who says they "appreciate everything coach Wright has done for the program, but they feel it is time to go in a different direction."

Coach Wright took over at Arnold after James Hale was pushed out of the job following the 2012 season. In his 6 seasons at the helm, Wright's overall record with the Marlins was 27-33. His teams failed to win a district title or make the playoffs.

The opening is already being advertised on the County website, coach Green says once that is done he'll oversee a nationwide search, stressing they want a coach with head coaching experience, a coach who's led teams to the playoffs.
