Bleday set to sign his first pro contract Friday

MIAMI, FL (WJHG/WECP) Mosley alum JJ Bleday is about to become a professional baseball player!

The lefthanded slugger down in Miami today getting his physical, which his father tells us went well.

The final terms of his contract were agreed to, his bonus won't be less than $6.6 million. The signing will take place Friday morning, after which JJ will spend time with some of the Miami Marlins, and then spend some time with the press in South Florida.

Bleday was also given his first minor league assignment, and that is in Jupiter, the Marlins team in the single-A Florida State League. So he is going to be a "Hammerhead".

Jupiter just over a 7 hour drive, will be easy for his family and friends to go see him play there, or in Tampa, Lakeland, Clearwater, and other spots around central and south Florida.
