Blountstown and Bay seniors sign volleyball and golf scholarships, respectively

BLOUNTSTOWN/PANAMA CITY, FL (WJHG/WECP) It was a big day Tuesday for two more area high school student-athletes.

Signing day for Kendall Hatchett at Blountstown Tuesday

One of them, Kendall Hatchet, a senior at Blountstown, who signed a scholarship offer with St. John's River College, a Juco program in Palatka near Jacksonville.

Kendall a four year member of the Tiger's volleyball program compiling 331 kills in her career. This past season she helped the Lady Tigers to an elite eight appearance with 173 kills, 39 aces, and 138 digs.

Now back south and into Bay County, Bay senior Taylor Moody taking the next step in her career by signing Tuesday afternoon with Daytona State College, so she'll continue school and her athletic career just a little south of Kendall.

Taylor making it to the State Tournament the last three years of her high school career, a 7th place finish in the 2A individual standings this past season. The year before, a state runner up finish, and in her sophomore year, she tied for 37th.

Moody joins one of the premier Juco women's golf programs in the country, a program coached by Laura Brown who's won ten NJCAA National Championships.
